Gas struts for curbside storage door

Anyone attempted this project?? I met a gentleman in Port Aransas last year that had completed this project on a 07 3400. Looked pretty good. He used 2 30lb struts for the project. The diffuculty is constructing the part that fits on the door frame lip. Asked at the time if he was a MOC member and he was not. Anyone have any pictures or thoughts concerning is project??
This forum is the greatest!! I have so many future projects from this forum, like the seat swivel for the 3075 table. Thanks for all the ideas!!!

Orv, I think he is talking about installing gas struts on the basement door on the curbside of his coach. I would also be interested in seeing something like this. This would be a nice addition to that danged door.

I would be interested too - Critical part is figuring out the length of the stroke and position so you can get them to open completely.

I think I would leave mine alone. If on a strut the door would still stick out some when open, and I already bang my head on enough things around the camper.
