New Big Sky tires? (correction)

Today, I saw a less-than-month-old 2009 Big Sky 340 RLQ at the Escapade Rally. The tires were Goodyear and E-rated for 3500# loading at 80 psi. Maybe Keystone is beginning to get the message about tires.

All Montana's have that tire now Stiles. It is in the 10 year anniversary brochure. Although the size is new to the Goodyear Marathon line, it is still a Chinese tire.

The Marathon is not near the tire as what you have installed. A set of Marathons can be had for around $400 - $500.

My apologies for the misinformation. The tires on the 2009 Big Sky were not Goodyear. They are the Ultra GRT 235 85R16 E-rated manufactured by Goodrich. The load rating at 80 psi is 3650#. They were manufactured in march of 2008 per the DOT stamp.

However, I have been unable to confirm BFGoodrich as the Manufacturer. BFGoodrich is now owned by Michlin as far as I can tell, but when I called them and asked, they said it was not their tire. Googling the tire does not get me any answers. Maybe we have a mystery to solve here. This shows me that I need to better verify info before posting.

Stiles,

That would be good news if we can verify. Michelin or Goodrich would be a nice alternative tire to the Missions. It's possible they are a brand new size. The Marathons were already on the feet of the new Montanas before the website ever showed the actual tire in that size.

(must take a while to translate all that Chinese into English )
