2955 Winterization

The owners manual is not very detailed about how to perform this maintenance. I think I found the water heater bypass valve behind the wall in the basement. I guess turn tis off, drain and clean HAW heater.

On the kitchen side, I found behind the basement wall a hose that I think would go into the RV antifreeze. There is a valve there I would think you turn. Then do you turn on the main water pump and just pump the antifreeze through the water system?

Am I close? Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks

My suggestion method of winterization is to do what I do...
I drag my 2955RL south to Florida. Been doing mine this way for 2 winters and have yet to have a frozen line.

BUT if you insist on staying up in Wisconsin and freezing than I can't be of much help as I have never actually winterized my rig.

Right on the money for the fresh water lines!

Don't forget to open the drain for the fresh water tank and let that drain empty...

Make sure the waste tanks are also empty.

If you have the washer/dryer prep don't forget to run antifreeze through the washer valves as well.

Make sure you get enough antifreeze in all the drain traps.

I use the air pressure method to blow out the lines and put pink winterizing antifreeze in drain traps. I drain the lines first and then air pressure.

Glen, I have copied down your winterizing instructions to my notebook of other valuable notes on our upcoming Montana purchase and will follow them to the letter. Boy! I'm glad we have these posts! =)

The 2955RL has 2 fresh water drains under the coach below where the galley is too. They look like the "udder" where you drain the fresh water drain in the rear. I discovered them by accident, and my dealer didn't even know about them! Certainly merit being drained though, as even pumping anti freeze thru the lines wouldn't displace the straight water in them.
