Slide Awning delaminating

Has any one had any problems with their large slide awnings delaminating. In the last week a large section of the top layer of my slide awning has separated and is flapping in the wind. I checked the warranty on the awning and it is only for one year. I'm wondering if this is a common thing or did I just get a bad awning? We have had this coach since 2002. Anyone aware of any recalls on this?

We had the same problem on ours. It was a replacement awning from the dealer. Just replaced the one over the sofa side. $400 from a dealer. He said it may have been a old one they had in stock that caused it. So far the others look like new.

Thanks for the info. Since the other one seems to be fine I was hoping maybe this was known problem. I guess I'll have to shell out the dough to get it fixed.

had to replace both slide awnings on our '03 TT due to delamination ... both were out of warranty but when we called the manufactor (Dometic in our case) they sent free replacement fabrics ... for the install process it helps to have 2 people but isn't complicated
