Louise told me this would be my last truck. I guess she knew what she was talking about, but don't tell her I said that!

That must make an awful racket going down the street with that thing bolted to the tire. Just adding a little levity. I like that step as I am 5'7" on a good day. How does it attach to the wheel?

Jack and others-- go to the Cabela's ad and then click on the Retractable Hitch Step THEN click on the Truck Bedstep for $49.99 on the mid righthand area. I think that is what you guys are looking for! Thinking of getting one for myself because of my "leadbottom" and my short arms . For 50 bucks I might be able to afford that rather than the $200+ ones previously mentioned in this thread! And it folds away also! Happen to have a Cabela's across town from me and think I'll check it out tomarrow!

Thanks Ron,that's just what I am looking for, good price too. Reading the reviews there seems to be a debate if it will fit a crewcab dually.
If you do talk to them Ron,could you ask if it will fit a 2007 crewcab long bed dually? It would be perfect if it does.
Thanks,
Jack

Received and installed my Step Gate from Geno's Garage. Total cost including shipping was $112 plus change. This was the two step model, one step is about $10 cheaper. Took less than an hour to install which included drilling out one of the self tapping screws that I broke. When they say don't overtighten, that's what they mean.

This was my first camping trip out with my new Tail Gate step. I bought the two step version from Geno's and here's my analysis.
It was very easy to install but I have an Access bed cover and with the step in place I could not lower the tailgate without releasing and rolling back the cover a few inches. No big deal but something to be aware of.
After I hooked up my fifth wheel I noticed the handle for the Step Gate just cleared the underneath of the 5ver by a 1/2". I don't have a 4 wheel drive so my truck is a little lower. Again no big deal.
It is advertised to hold 400# and I'm 300 and it held me. The only problem I had was that after installing it as I was climbing up, my foot slipped and I threw my back out. Again no big deal just my clumsiness.
I would recommend this step and the nice thing is that there is a separate mounting plate available for about $25 so you can move the step assembly to another truck.

Hi Phil & Cathy. Please notice the correction in my posting regarding the separate mounting plate not aeparate. Good luck and I hope you enjoy it.
