Curt 16K Fifth Wheel Hitch

Anyone willing to recommend a Curt 16k hitch?

http://www.curtmfg.com/index.cfm?eve...&categoryid=38

I bought a used F350 today and it has fifth wheel hitch rails already installed.

Local guy sells Curt hitches and swears they are better than Reese.

Anyone like to respond with pros and cons?

Thanks much - Bill

Bill,
Don't know much about Curt fifth wheel hitch. I have a curt hitch that plugs into my receiver for towing the boat and etc.
What ever you get make sure it swivels side to side as well as front to back. Makes unhitching easier on unlevel ground.
Good luck and welcome to the MOC.

I believe it does pivot or swivels both ways:

• 16K Towing Capacity
• 4,000 lb. pin weight capacity
• Single handle operation
• Auto locking mechanism
• Dual pivot head
• 4 position height adjustment
• Head removal 2 pins
• Entire unit 4 pins
• 10° lateral movement
• Anti-rattle skid plate
• Permalube pivot bushing
• Industry standard rail configuration
• Head alone weighs 60 lbs.
• Entire unit weighs 100 lbs.
• Meets or exceeds current & proposed industry standards
• 5 YEAR WARRANTY

BTW - He wants to sell the the hitch only - I have rails installed - for $225 plus tax!

Thanks - Bill

Looks like a REAL close copy of Montana graphics (mountains) on that 5th wheel shown on their website...

I have the 20K Curt hitch and it has rubber pads to help smooth the ride I really like it and recommend the 20k vice the 16k for that reason. I don't think the 16k has these rubber pads.

Thanks Amps - Very encouraging!

That and the Mor-Ryde hitch pin might really make a difference?

Sounds like it....

I will check on the price - If the 16k is only $225. The 20k can't be that much more.....
