Sweet! Very nice quality finish on your counter extension. Hats off, my friend.

Hey Dick it looks great. Get your tools out as we will be in Bellingham for Christmas morning to visit the kids.

Did you have to put in a brace when the extension meets the counter? I have one to install but am afraid that the cabinet sides are too week for the pressure or possible weight. Should I put a cross member in to brace it?

Hey Dick, now that you have a pattern how about doing one just like it for me? I'll give you hugs too.

Mike, yes I put a 1 x 2 strip of wood for a stiffner on the inside of that thin wall. One behind each hinge.

Helen, if you were closer I do have enough oak left for another one. Now that I said that I will get several orders. We leave for Az next week so have no shop time. Miss you guys.

rlwhit I really like your counter extension and wonder if you could tell me what you used for hinges and how is it held up when in place? A picture from underneath would be great if you have one. Would you happen to be in the Yuma area this winter?

You can buy it as a kit from Camping World or other RV outlets. The extension has a piano hinge on it. There is single folding elbow brace under it to hold it up. I have not yet completed my installation, however, I will try to remember to post a picture if nobody else does.

Dick,

Again, a very beautiful wood project.

Thanks for asking about the dates!

There are only 46 days until the Quartzsite rally.

There are only 122 days until the North American Rally in Tucson.

There are only 171 days until the Lake Siskiyou, CA Rally.

For those of you who don't know, Dick is a master wood crafter. His tables are absolute works of fine art.

Brackets can be found at Amazon under "folding shelf brackets"
