Yeah, but "Mythbusters" found that a net was better than a closed tailgate

Also remember that this is with no 7-ton RV attached to the truck and the leading edge turbulence from a Montana nosecone defeats any advantage a gate up, gate-down, net scenario would have.

When you are towing a 5th wheel none of that applies.If we leave something sort of light under the nose of the 3400 when towing it will be sucked out of the truck. We lost a 3foot step ladder like that because we forgot to tie it down.

That is great milage, but man, that is just too slow for me. I have driven around 60 and some 21 MPG. I just don't really look at the MPH, I just set my cruise at 2000 RPMs and let her run. Loaded or unloaded, on the highway, I do the same. Milage averages about 19 empty and around 11-12 pulling.
