Silverthorne is located on I-70,kinda in the valley area but you are in the middle of the Rocky mts. Lots of pulls in this area, where you comin from? You should not have a problem with your rig anywhere on the I-70 route. Beautiful area, enjoy!

Silverthorne is a very pretty area near Breckenridge. Lots to do in the area from fishing, hiking, sight seeing and just enjoying the fresh mountain air. Have a great time. I70 goes right to Silverthorne. The altitude is 8700 feet, which is significant for a flat lander. However, if you are in good health and take it easy and hydrate well for a few days you'll do fine. We live in the midwest and my wife is from Colorado, so we deal with the altitude every year when we visit. In fact, we're building a house out there at 7500 feet. By the way, if you want to ski, A-Basin is going to be open until July 4.

Been through Silverthorne many times, several times pulling our fifth-wheel (Jayco, then Montana, now HitchHiker). Never any problems with the mountains.

My daughter and I skied the A Basin in July several years ago. An experience we will not forget.

The only problem I've ever had with the tunnel is when it's closed due to snow in the winter.

Big rig tractor trailers go through the Eisenhower tunnel every day. You would have no problem with your rig. Enjoy.
