Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I just cannot resist carrying on here. I want to make one point only. A man working at Ford in Detroit that I respect told me when I got my 1st 4x4 something I've always tried to remember. We use our trucks in 4 wheel drive so infrequently that the seals do not stay lubricated. Told me a good idea was to run it a while in 4x4 mode at least once per month. Just Tuesday, I needed it to get backed into our driveway - had been raining for a week while we were in central Texas.

I use the latest posts feature on the right side of the screen. I DO continue to follow threads as long as they show up there and WILL post response as I feel warranted. Unless the Forum police change the policy I don’t think there is a limit to how many times you can respond

Now that we have all been able to determined that a 4x2 and a 4x4 are appropriate vehicles to tow our RVs, now we have to decide whether it should be a Ford, Ram or GM, diesel or gas

Oh and as far as snow in NC/SC - gotta say that two winters way back when and living in Gastonia, NC. the only folks that moved several days were the few that had 4x4 as the snow plows were mostly graders and a few tractors. Then there was that red mud ......

Dave after this you might need some personal protection. I know a rifle builder in Gastonia, James Messer. You might pay him a visit.

Lynwood - the closest I've been to Gastonia in many years is down I-85 a few years back on a business trip. Besides that, I can no longer afford any more rifles so just go to the local gun show or places like LL Bean and drool over their wares.

All I can say is I buy 4x4 for the same reason I wear a seat belt. It isn't that I plan on having an accident but if I do at least I am prepared for the UNEXPECTED!

Oh this will get a laugh. Tonight North Arkansas is under an Ice Storm alert! Tommorow morning they want us to drive to the main office for a SAFETY MEETING!!!!! I will be in 4x4 for sure in the 3/4 ton work truck!
I like this post.Same reason we have the TPMS.

Discussed many times. Had I not had 4WD, I wouldd have been stuck in my flat storage lot a couple of times after a rain, so......
