What Campfire? The Weather is LOUSY

Merely a whimper.

It's raining again with some snow predicted in the Adirondacks. Yeah, I'n not the only one this spring but the 5er just is not ready to use this year. Got the inside and roof cleaned and the wheel bearings packed. I also have two of the four slide toppers on .... but the weather for the rest of the week .... more. And the CG where we spend most of the summer opens on Thursday. I have two more toppers to install then it needs at least a wash though a wax job is needed but will be done at the CG.

Going to be busy ... if the rain ever stops and I can trim the new webs from between my toes

Dave, there are a lot of us all over the country feeling your pain. My yard is the wettest I've seen it since we built it 12 years ago. One of the reasons we picked this lot was because of the excellent drainage. Looks like we are getting a break in the rain here in Oklahoma this week for our 5 day camping trip. Come July and August we'll be begging for rain!

We have had to evacuate campgrounds twice now due to rivers flooding. It is so nice to be next to beautiful rivers, but such a pain when it rains so much the river floods!

We just had two inches of heavy wet snow in North West Wisconsin two days ago. Been one of the coolest May's that we have ever seen.

Last year we had over 60 inches of rain and we are above our normal of 40 inches for this year. Last year beat our all record for rain.

On the plus side I’m a farm boy and the hay is growing. The next problem is how to get it up with so much rain. You have probably heard you make hay when the sun shines, it’s true. When is the sun going to shine for three days in a row?

Still raining with some snowflakes mixed in and 38* this morning. I did get the third topper on the 5er yesterday, finishing --- in the rain.

The 4th and last but longest (156") topper may get installed tomorrow -- if it doesn't rain. I have to say that installing these topper is not a hard job, just very time consuming with having to install the awning rails with many, many self drilling screws. The Dometic instructions are not well written with the anti billow stop and bracket install write up totally confusing,

(I wonder if it's time to take the snowblower off the tractor yet)

It has been unseasonably cold here in AZ also. It should warm up soon with some luck.

This years weather has been unlike any other year. This spring, most of the country has been wet and cold. We've finally been getting a few showers in central FL the last 4 or 5 days; but prior to that we had a few weeks of southwest weather. No rain or humidity & temperatures in the 90s. It was so dry grass turned brown & crunchy, even the weeds wilted.

Yep, still been raining in Upstate NY. After an overnight rain on Wednesday evening (1.5"!) stepped off of the 5er's steps into 4" of water on our site. Since we seasonal and it's a new site for us, now have a 300 buck added expense for a deck so we can enjoy what little sun we have tho the past weekend was glorious - but with more rain expected Tues - Sat. Sigh.

Gotta say that I am happy it hasn't been nearly as bad as the Midwest and parts of Texas/Oklahoma though. I do hope it dries up for them soon

We had to evacuate in Gulf Shores for one night May 14 for a wildfire. Had reservations at Little Rock and that was cancelled for flooding. Got in at KOA but had to drive through standing water to get in.
Now back home in Missouri and flooding. At least the weather is changing and really no rain for several days.

Here in western Va we have got at least 6 inches of rain in the last 4 days. No problem. The creeks and river was up but back in their banks now.

Well still no campfire. At least no snow like other parts of the US, but 3.5 inches of rain on Thursday sure put a damper (and a small lake on our campsite) on our CG stay. Lots of Upstate NY areas had some flooding and washed out roads. Not been a good spring here

Northern Ohio rain..... lake Erie is full never in recorded history has it been at this level. Boat slips are under water rivers and streams that flow into the lake are backing up and flooding. They are concerned about the wind out of the NNW causing the western basin to overflow. We are 12 miles, two shorelines and 10K years south of the present Lake Erie and except for our back yard which was Lake Erie 10K years ago being a bog we are good.If we go about 30 inches down in our yard we hit the bed of Lake Erie 10K years ago Clay, sand rocks, etc. That 30 inches is saturated and can not hold anymore water hence the bog.
