I-69 & I-70, Fri 5/27 & Mon 5/30

We made a trip (without the Montana) from Goshen, IN, to Lawrence, KS, and back on Memorial Day weekend. We saw a number of Montanas and Mountaineers. We flashed lights twice at those we could but got no replies. Some got by us before we could flash. Any of these our members?

1. Fri, 5/27, Indiana, I-69, 10:50 a.m., mile marker 60, northbound. Montana towed by a white Chevy. We think the Montana was a 3650RK.

2. Fri, 5/27, Indiana, I-69, 11:05 a.m., mile marker 45, northbound, Montana towed by a red Chevy.

3. Fri, 5/27, Indiana, I-70, eastbound, mile marker 63, west of Indianapolis, 12:45 p.m., silver Dodge towing a Mountaineer.

4. Fri, 5/27, Missouri, I-70, eastbound, mile marker 103, 8:15 p.m., white Dodge towing a Mountaineer (I think. Our notes are not real clear on this one.)

5. Mon, 5/30, Missouri, I-70, westbound, mile marker 80, west of Booneville, 10 a.m., Ford truck towing a Mountaineer.

6. Mon, 5/30, Missouri, I-70, westbound, 11:15 a.m., mile marker 168, Mountaineer towed by gold/brown truck (saw this one too late to catch the make).

7. Mon, 5/30, Missouri, I-70, westbound, 11:30 a.m., mile marker 186, west of Warrenton, white Excursion towing a Mountaineer TT

None of them were us. We were at the Western Region Rally having a ball.

I was wondering how you guys were going to make the celebration. Glad you had a safe trip. Our Monty was in Texas so it wasn't us.

Judy, it was the longest trip without the Montana since we started fulltiming. While we ran a higher speed it was still a lot of driving. There was a time I could do 800 miles in a day without a blink. I still don't get all that tired but my poor old body cries loudly when I exit the truck after that long sitting still.

Steve,

I am amazed, you keep a little notebook in the truck to write this all down?? I can barely figure out where I am (mile marker) half the time, and you know where these rigs were, and what kind and towed by what?? You are very observant! (Or, is that Vicki??)

Actually, it's both of us. Sometimes I see it, sometimes Vicki does. She's usually the one writing it down as I call out the mile marker and tell her the highway and direction. One of us usually has identified the tow vehicle and color. Vicki is a former legal secretary (well, she's still legal ) and very organized on things like that. In other words, it's a team effort as it is in many things we undertake.
