Off with the shoes at the door has been our way all our lives. Your toes deserve to stretch and relax too. I like being barefoot and I always do yoga barefoot. Wife like socks. Hey were all different.

Nancy and I remove our shoes at the door, Nancy does use house slippers, Me, I just love being in my sock feet! I have always done this since a kid, so just my perference. If I enter someones RV and i see they have removed their shoes I do the same, If I see they have their shoes on I leave mine on. Dont think either way is wrong or right, just a personal perference. Does save the carpet and floor.

We spent five years in Japan in the late 60's and early 70's. The custom there is to remove your shoes at the door in the "mud room." We got in a habit of doing it there and have continued to do so for the last 40+ years. To us, when we enter your door and remove our shoes, it is a sign of respect for you and your house. Incidentally, it does help keep your carpet cleaner.

Would only take off foot ware if they were full of animal excretion!! But who ever buys your used unit will appreciate your tender care.

We're 50/50 here. Glen rarely takes his shoes off anywhere except where it is the custom in the trailers of others. I use any excuse I can find to take my shoes off and usually wear some sort of slip on shoes so I can accomplish this task. Crocs are great! (And their cheap imitations). Greta is always barefoot although we've considered getting her some boots to wear around the stickers in the Texas grass.

We started with taking our shoes off, but upon reflection I seem to have gotten out of the habbit. Thanks for the reminder, I think I will make more of an effort starting this spring.

We remove our shoes both at home and in the Montana and when we visit other RV's and homes.

Flip-flops ( what a name ), tennis shoes, and pull on boots, off at the door, lace up boots stay on feet unless muddy or otherwise icky.

When camping we have an outdoor carpet that helps keep the inside clean, but when parked at home we don't use it.

If you remove your shoes when you enter our rig, we will look at it as a sign of respect for us and our rig. If you can't or don't want to remove your shoes before entering, well.....?

Interesting. I had no idea so many, perhaps a majority, remove shoes at the door. I'll need to be observant of others' practices when visiting.

Without consciously choosing, I'll remove heavier walking shoes after entering, replacing them with sandals or slippers. That's for comfort. If I've been out and about in my sandals, they'll stay on when I enter the trailer. We've got a foot wiping pad at the bottom of the stairs and a very nice runner covering the carpet the length of the living room.

After 4 years in Japan and 15 in Hawaii, of with the shoes in both the stickhouse and rv. I prefer walking around in my socks in bogth places, DW prefers slippers inside. We always emove shoes visiting other peoples homes and rv s, but if you want to wear shoes in our humble abodes you are more than welcome. Although, the older I get the more I look for flipflops and sandal type shoes, or crocs to save bending on my creeky old knees. Whatever makes you comfotable. Haven't been able to convince the dog to take her wet or muddy feet off yet, but the cats are coming along...

We usually take our shoes off when we come in, especially slip ons. If we are in tie shoes, it depends on the weather. It isn't always easy to get them off and on. We do have an outside rug, inside runners etc. to catch any debris. This goes for Graeme especially. Wiping the feet doesn't always take care of 100% of the mud in rainy weather. 2 1/2 yrs full timing and the rug still looks pretty good!!! (even after going through the puppy training stage)

We haven't been taking our shoes off, but when we get the new 3400 in aobut a month, the shoes will definitely be coming off.
I'm getting tired of cleaning the carpets in our 3280.

We look at the bottom of our shoes. If they are dirty they come off. If they are clean after walking on all the rugs outside then we keep them on but not for long. We both like to walk around barefoot or stocking foot.
