Entry Door Hand Rail

I've already taken a tumble from the bottom step of my MOR/ryde steps. So looking for something extra to hold onto, me being me, I'll do it again.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these?

MOR/ryde Hand Rail

Or the Stromberg Carlson Extended Assist Rail:

Thanks in advance

This spring along with our new aluminum steps I installed the Stromberg assist handle, its marvelous, and it used the exact same mounting hole as the original was attached to. Great investment.

Slow down Baldicon! You shouldn't be running up and down the steps. BTW we just left Custer, SD and are now in Cody, WY until next Friday when we head to Glacier NP. See you and new Montana in late July.

Door handles

Our unit came with a big door handle that extends out 24”. We thought about the stromberg Carlson and decided the lower portion would not offer any benefit.

We also looked at the moryde accessory rail that bolts directly to the step unit. Bought one and took it home for a test fit...but in our unit the rail hits the countertop just inside the door...missed clearing it by 2”. We took it back. The rail will not work for some units.

By the way - we really like the moryde step unit. The unit already has threaded inserts for the accessory railing to bolt direct real easy. Very nice. But wait - they DO NOT include any bolts with the rail accessory package and do not provide info on what size bolt that it takes. This seems really stupid to me.

We too have the Stromberg Extended handrail.
Love it!
It works great with the new 5 step Torklift Revolution steps we just installed.

Amazon often has that Stromberg hand rail for a greatly reduced price. I paid, IIRC $42 but have seen it there for as low as $38. Great addition to a set of 'drawbridge steps'

Glad your trip is going well. Came by to see you after we pulled the new unit to CF, but you were already gone. We will be here off and on until November, so we will see you when you get back.

Safe travels!

Extended hand rail

My wife needs the assist to climb the steps. Either up or down. I installed the Stromberg Carlson AC-544. Works great. Did need to build a spacer under the stand offs because when folded the rail hit the door frame.

We also have the Stromberg Carlson Extended handle, we love the way it was easy to install and you wouldn’t think it would make a big difference, BUT IT DID! Love it!

Hope your fall wasn't due to not leveling the morryde steps at each new site. Very easy to do and quite easy to see when the steps aren't level front to back.

I have the 4 step Morryde stepabove with their hand rail. It is great product, sturdy, easy to install and reasonable price. I also installed the MORryde storage box in space where old fold up steps used to be. Easy install and also well made. I got bothe the hand rail and storage box from PPL MOTOR HOMES WEB SITE IN TEXAS.They had best prices and only $9.95 shipping. Highly recommend.

That was the 2nd thing we added to our Montana along with a rear camera the extra handle for the steps before we left the lot. I just had my 2nd hip replaced & only four weeks into recovery when we traded our 30' Sundance in for our 3120RL Montana.

The site we were one sloped from port to starboard and with the step extension out as far as they would go, they still would not touch the ground, so I had to put wood blocks under the legs. I stepped down on the edge of a set of the wood blocks and rolled my ankle. Thankful I didn't break anything since I fell completely to the ground. I was grabbing for the hand rail but couldn't reach it.
