Replacement remote control

Its the time of year when we start getting ready for our camping season. I have the remote like the one pictured here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rv-Camper-LC...ab18d1&vxp=mtr It is a poor design and the buttons are starting to fail. I looked at the Lippert site and there isn't much good info. Has anyone replaced the remote with a different style, like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lippert-IDS-...33d1b0&vxp=mtr without changing the board? I thought it might be worth the question since the second one looks a lot better.

I'd say a call to Lippert would be needed to see what remote is compatible with what power board. Sadly, I heard the new Montanas don't come with remotes. Hope I'm wrong.

2015 Montana's do not have a remote control. No big issue for me on my 2015 3611RL Montana Legacy.

Neither of the ebay links look like my remote that doesn't have any part numbers on it, but 12 buttons labeled awning out/in, h aux out/in, e aux out/in, room out/in, then the funky button pair labeled light at at top button...on labelled in the center...lci labelled for the bottom button and lastly landing gear out/in buttons. If mine ever craps out, then I will just forget about it. John

The one on the Lippert site says it doesn't come with the "overlay". I don't want another one like what I have because it is poor quality. I guess I will get the model number off the board the next time I go over to storage and call Lippert. I guess when it completely craps out I may just go without one. It's like the remote for one of the Jensen TVs in the bedrooms. It stopped working and a replacement is $60. So I just share the other remote between the two.

No remote on our 2015. The one on our 2010 was unreliable anyway, so never used

I hear what you are saying about your remote experiences. Just luck of the draw I guess, but mine works well. It is great for hooking up solo as all I have to do is sit in the truck and raise or lower the fiver then back right into the kingpin. I always use 4X4 blocks under my back electric stabilizers, so pressing the stabilizer button while adjusting the blocks is nice as well. If we are outside and the wind suddenly came up, tap the awning button and issue is dealt with without going inside. Although risky with inside drawers, setting up solo ... I remotely deploy the slides at times while checking for clearance. When I trade, I'll miss it. Sorry to wander a bit from the OP's question.
