Get your 20% off your RV insurance!!!!!!!!
About 3 weeks ago, we got a letter from State Farm for units' construction, from "non-metal materials".
This applies to Comprehensive and physical damage coverage.
We got the letter, called our Insurance agent...who knew nothing about it... But they called home office and now they know.
SO, either they were charging us too much all along, or it is a new deal.
Worth a call to your agent, no matter which Insurance company you are with.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

I was told State Farm would not write RV insurance for fulltimers...if they know it.

I have Good Sam, which is really MIC (aka GMAC), and paid $598 for a year's coverage. How does that stack up with others?

Tom, it was $524 last year, now this year it is $591.00, but we should get 20% off that.
Don't know why it went up.... I guess because they will give us 20% off??????

Our 2012 3750FL Big Sky is rolling off the line in a week or so. I received a quote from GMAC through GS for $770, $500 deductible. I then received a quote from GMAC through RV America for the same coverage for $551. I then received a quote second quote from GMAC through RV America, unsolicited, for $664 a year, $1,000 deductible. THEN, a quote from GEICO, who has everything I own insured, for $720. Needless to say, I'm upside down right now. What are you all paying GS for ERS?

That is correct. Twice I had State Farm when we decided to full time and both times they stopped our insurance. The only way they don't know you are full time is if you lie by not telling them.

I strongly suspect that if you have a major claim, some investigation will take place. If it is determined that you were insured under a false pretext, it might be reason for denial. There are companies the have full timer's coverage eliminating the risk.

What would be the definition of Full time? If you are gone 12 month's, if you have no 'stick home' like that...

It is not my definition that counts. If it were me I would check with the company to get their definition. I think that is possible without giving away anything through customer service, not you agent.
When I went full time, I looked for a company that advertised fulltimer's coverage even though I had a permanent residence address.

Meaning the outer surfaces are made of fiberglass or such as opposed to sheet metal? Obviously the frame is metal.

The metal skin is the problem I think, our outer surface is much more durable.
