Allergy shots

Does anyone out there get allergy shots on a regular basis? How do you handle it while traveling. I am thinking of stopping for a few months. Hate to do it, but don't see any alternative. Thanks for the anticipated answers! Joanie

I don't take them anymore but use to for about 6 years. Of course that was here at the stick. You can learn to give them to yourself. If they are not regulated, then that is a NO-NO since you could have a reaction and will need to have a doc or nurse around then. You could also have your DH give them to you-- if you trust him!!LOL I'm sure if you are traveling and go into a clinic somewhere they would be happy to give them to you also. How often do you take them? Once a week, month or more? That's what I would be doing if I still took them. I'm now on pills for my hayfever and etc and that works great for me! Let us know what you come up with!

I give to myself as well, only during their office hours just in case, and always have an epi-pen handy.

If your doctor does not want you to do this yourself, perhaps he or she can suggest a solution (using a clinic or physician's office).

Thanks for the replies. Because I have asthma they make me stay around for 30 minutes after the shots instead of the 20 for people with just allergies. I just might suspend them until we return in the fall. DH is an EMT and they just might let him give me the shots. I will probably try that first. Thanks again!!
