Looking for BIG pots to boil omelettes

I had told FireTruckerWife that we'd bring a BIG pot or two for boiling omelettes but I can't find 'em. I have spent an hour in the garage looking.

So, if anyone has one and hasn't left home yet, would you throw it into your Monty and bring it with you?

Thanks.

I have several in reserve, so don't worry about it. We have plenty.

Okay, I gotta ask, how do you boil an omelette? Please don't take it the wrong way. I have just never heard of that before. Just curious.

It's a fun way to make omelettes:

Write on a quart-size ziplock FREEZER baggie your name with a "sharpie pen".

Take two eggs, scramble in a bowl and pour into the baggie.

Add into the baggie any type of fixins (cheese, green onion, crab etc..) just as you would when making an omelette the traditional way.

While keeping the baggie upright, zip the baggie closed most of the way, push as much air that you can from the baggie and zip it closed the rest of the way.

Drop the baggie into boiling water for 12 minutes.
For 3 eggs, boil a minute or two longer.

Remove the baggie from the boiling water, unzip and slide it out onto a plate.

It is the most flavorful omelette you'll ever eat.

You can arrange ahead of time lots of fixin's and let people add in their own fixins to their omelettes. It's a great breakfast for everyone to participate in and it allows everyone to sit down and eat together at the same time.

Thanks.

See you later this week.

When Amy and I cooked the omelets at the Buellton Rally, we also found it very helpful to write the time they go into the pot--so it is easy to know when each baggie is ready.
Really looking forward to the fun!!!!

Thanks for the explanation. Sounds like a good way to cook several at a time. Amazing what you learn on here. Oh do I love a good omelet made with fresh yard eggs.

Someone will explain everything that morning ... but basically you assemble your ingredients into your bag and bring it up to the cooking station. There we will put your name and time on the bag, seal it up and cook it for you. We will call your name when it's ready! It can't get any easier than that! It's yummy!
