Severe Weather in an RV

We're thinking of vacationing in the mid-west (southern Minnesota) next summer, but are a little concerned about what happens when there is severe weather ie, tornados or high winds. What type of warning do campgrounds usually give or shelter in the event campers need to leave their campers in severe storms? Would love to hear from any who have knowledge of how it's handled or have experienced this.

Thanks
