Sounds like almost everyone in the article has decided on a solution to their problem. Isn't that what made America great.

I read this this morning. Very realistic article (on the "fulltimer"). The problem is that no one in authority seems concerned about this. It is interesting that they led this article off with this particular story, though.

$4.73 in Chico, CA today. In a few days or maybe hours it will be at $5.00 BIG,BIG OUCH

I don't expect our politicians to help provide any relief from this, too many of them receive money from the oil companies.

Maybe a "Boston Tea Party" event will turn things around.

From CNN Money.......This is short form of link.

Short link.

CNN link.

What does that mean??? I thought that was the link I posted?????

See the example I posted. You can post whatever you want in where I have posted.... "This is sort form of link."

This information has been posted many times and there is even a special "sticky" post explaining how to do this. I believe it is under the Geek Squad area...

Thank you RVWheels

Anyone see the National News tonight, our leader went to Saudia Arabia and asked for more barrels of oil to be released to us.

Not sure what good it will do, aren't we pretty much at the max for refinery production??

Gas here the other day was around $3.94. Diesel was well over $4.00, sorry, not sure of the exact amount, but has been running about 60 to 75 cents more per gallon.

What do you propose they do? Plus, the oil companies are owned by us...the stock holders. As I noted earlier, my energy stocks have gone up almost 200%. If I look at what I'm paying for fuel versus what I'm making in the stock market...I'm ahead!!

Tom... There you go with the facts again.....who wants to hear that..everyones knows it is OPEC and the evil politicians(who we elect) that are the villains . I am sure that any 401K that we may have include energy stocks. So we need to contact our fund managers and tell them not to buy energy stocks..lets do our part?????? or ... We have met the enemey..and he is us...

It's a race. I think these stations are all running to out do each other. On CNN at 8 PM Sunday (and Sat, but missed that tonight) "Out of Gas". I'll try to watch tomorrow.

Northern Illinois update. In my immediate area diesel is 455.9 - 469.9 & reg gas is 395.9 - 399.9. Now here's the interesting part. Not only on the expressway but the tollway as well diesel is 445.9. Even in northern Cook county (Chicago area) diesel is 445.9 - 455.9. FYI Cook county has an additional tax over and above the other taxes. It really doesn't make any sense at all. The oil companies are targeting different geographical areas for different pricing at the local level.

I'm wondering if the rest of you have experienced this in your neck of the woods or if the pricing is pretty standard within a 25 mile radius.

We finally did it. Yesterday, diesel in Seward hit $5.03 per gallon. I still predict over $6.00 by September.

Tammy and Bernie-- With you being up there-- just go out someplace really deserted (that shouldn't be real hard to find up there) along the pipeline and tap off a few gallons. I'm sure Bernie can figure a way of making a distiller or refiner at the hospital and you guys could drive forever! Seriously, I'm glad we made out trip to Alaska last summer-- don't think we could afford to make the 9 days of a rental this year! I also noticed that the cruise lines are now tacking on a $5.00 a day per person (that's $10 a day per room) fuel surcharge now! As if they aren't making enough off of us already on a cruise! Now if they gave the drinks (not water or soda) away free they may not make as much off me but since they don't and charge for everything but the water (oops-- forgot about the bottled water being charged for)........ I guess that statement was a brain f--t or I had a senior moment before I even got it typed!

Cheryl and I are going on a cruise next January. I cornered our tour company rep in public and pinned her down on this question... We are NOT going to get hit with any additional fees or fuel surcharge due to these rising fuel prices prior to our cruise are we? She gave us an emphatic "NO". We'll see... We are already paid, but I have a hard time believing that they won't try something.

Up here on Lake Superior diesel is now $4.60. You will recall when we got back to the stick home on May 1 it was $4.25. Gas was up to $3.90 a week ago it then dropped to $3.85 and is now $3.75.

Gas is around 3.81 and diesel 4.45 to 4.55 and climbing daily. This is going to limit my outings this summer. I really think the long haul truckers, company or independent need some help from the government. Anyone hauling food or necessities should get a break on fuel. This would help all of us on our purchases and save us on the inflation. L know we would all like soke help with fuel prices, but I don't think it is goung to happen. At least help the truckers and maybe railroads if they are shipping certain required items. Something has got to change somehow!

Topped off the tank before leaving Bakersfield and price was $4.699. When we pulled into our CG tonight at Patterson, CA. price was $4.959. Will go north to Lodi and fill up at Flying J. Be interesting to see what their price is. We expect to be paying in excess of $5 by the time we make it home.

Later.
