Please educate me

I have been a MOC member since July of 2006. I have lost track of how many $$ this forum has saved me and how much they have helped me. With the "upgrades" in the website (I am not super "tech savvy") I cannot tell when I post a concern/question how to make sure I am notified of replies. Please educate me on how to make sure if I post a new thread, or if I post a reply, how I can make sure I am notified of any responses. There are a LOT of really smart people on this site and I want to continue to learn from them. TIA.

I usually get email notifications on any information or post I have commented on.

With the new setup for the forum, if you don't unsubscribe to a thread you post or post on you will receive email notifications as long as your email is current.

There are a couple of settings which determine the notification actions taken when you Create a posting or Reply to an existing one. There is a Global setting in your User Profile which you can access via User CP --> Settings and Options and then click on Edit Options. This will bring up a panel where you can set a default option for when you create a new post or Reply to an existing one. I believe the default is "Do not subscribe" which you can change to a number of different choices.

There is another override in case you choose to subscribe, or not, to each and every topic you create of reply to. When you create a new topic or reply to an existing one (using the Advanced Reply capability) you once again have subscription options which will apply only to this posting. Scroll down in the edit panel and you will see the following area where you can make a different choice than your Default.
