Battery retracting slides

I have a 2006 3400RL. The (1)marine battery is fully charged. I have no access to 30/50 amp while in storage. Can I open & close the 4 slides using the battery in lieu of the 'manual crank option'? It is a Lippert Electric Slide Out System. Thanks for your assistance. We are still learning.

First of all, Welcome to the MOC. Great place to ask such questions.
while the battery is fully charged it should put your slides out & in, at least for a few times.
If the system is not being charged up the battery will quite working the slides after a short time.
If you can plug in your truck, you'll now have 2 batteries.
you will have to charge the battery some time.

If you have an '06 3400RL, the slide rooms on your coach are hydraulically operated. The motor that turns the pump is operated with 12 volt power. Ideally, to move your slide rooms, a fully charged deep cycle battery will do the job.

If the battery is in the coach and if you have access to 120 volt power to hook up to the coach, that will do the trick, too.

Another way is what I do. I have a 12 volt jump start battery pack. That portable power pack goes everywhere the coach goes incase the coach battery fails for any reason. It is much easier to handle and faster than jockying the tv around to get 12 volt power to the coach. You can pick one up almost any where to supply 12 volts of power to jump start a vehicle. Well...this thing will jump start your coach, too.

Simply take it fully charged to the coach. Hook up the ground cable aligator clamp to the chassis ground cable or to any steel portion of a frame member. Then hook up the positive cable aligator clamp to the positive cable that hooks to the top center lug on the solenoid switch on top of the motor. Once everything is seeing 12 volt power, you can simply go to the slide operation switch in the coach and the rooms should operate like normal.

Or, if you have a set of jumper cables, hook those up to the battery of any vehicle. Hook the other ends as I described above to the solenoid switch or cables and the rooms should operate.

I have one of those handy dandy portable power packs as described by MIMF2 above. It is a versatile gadget and IMO is a must have for Rv'ing. Can use it instead of jumper cables, can charge your cell phone, can power the laptop. Got mine at wall mart/Dymanite power pro..under 40.00 as I remember.

I have my little Kippor 2000 generator and I if I have to do the slides with no truck running or no 110 shore power, I start up that liitle guy. We stop for lunch and put the slides out and my Viper remote starter is handy when it is time to leave. Start the truck from inside the Montana and lots of power for the slide motor.

As others have said, you can use the battery. If your battery is not strong enough, there is another option. Connect the trailer's umbilical cord to the truck's connection. The engine will need to be running in the truck but that will provide 12v power to move the slides. We did this when our coach battery failed (actually, it lost its ground) when we were getting ready to leave a site.
