Help! Leak from washing machine

We just purchased a 2010 Montana Mountaineer 345-DBQ. Today we had a washing machine installed in the front bedroom closet, and something appears to be leaking. There is water dripping from the bottom of the from the front cap. There is no water inside, as far as we can tell.

I cannot tell where the washing machine drain goes down below the floor. Anything I can easily check?

thanks,
Phil

I pulled mine out and installed a pan with a drain hose that runs to the front landing leg. I also located the water lines that fed the washer in the basement and installed shut offs in them.

You indicated you had the washer installed today. Sounds like you had it done. Recommend you take it straight back to the installers and let them fix whatever is wrong. They didnt do something correctly if it is leaking. Probably a loose connection, but could also be a defect in the machine itself.

Our brand new Splendide leaked from day one. We didn't notice it for a while, but when we did Splendide was great and fixed it under warranty.

Yes, we had it installed. We are still at the dealer, and they will look at it today. I was just wondering if there was something easy I could check.

That's a great idea.

OK, here is a new one to me. I am told that the washer drain doesn't go into the grey tank. This would explain why it backed up and/or leaked. Is it "normal" to need a sewer hook up to use the w/d?

Our last two rigs (3400 and 3750) drained directly to the sewer outlet after the tank discharges and did need to be hooked up to the sewer to drain. Some models differ.

Not to add to the confusion BUT. When I installed our W/D, near the drain there was a placard stating "drains directly into sewer line and a connection to a sewer is required". That may not be the exact statement but close and you get the drift. However, on further review, the W/D drain empties into my grey tank. Like Bingo kind of said, some do, some don't.

We, too, have a brand new Splendide that is leaking badly (well, after the one BIG leak, we quit using it until we can get it somewhere to have Splendide warranty work done on it). I suspected that it was leaking the first time or two when I used it, but I wasn't sure; the cabinet floor toward the back appeared damp. On the third time I used it, we had a flood from the cabinet into the bedroom.

The RV is going to Bretz RV in Missoula on May 4th to have some other work done, so that's when the washer will be checked. We suspect a connection may have worked loose between Clackamas, Oregon (where the machine was installed) and Dillon (where we're living until the end of May). The installation was done on a Friday afternoon, never a good time to have anything done on an RV when the crew is ready to call it a week!
