Removing TV in a 2005 2980RL

Question for our montana friends here. How can they remove an old original Toshiba CRT-style TV in the main living area so they can upgrade to a nice new LCD? IT appears to be wedged in tightly with no way to get it out. Cannot see any obvious screws or access points. The DVD is on a shelf immediately below. The bathroom is behind the TV. Thanks.

The 2980 floorplan is similar to my 3075, although mine is 2007. Is there an access panel in the back wall of that bathroom?
My old TV was mounted with a metal plate on the bottom something like a sled. That "sled" would slide onto another metal plate mounted to the bottom shelf of the cabinet. And it had a spring clip that latched when pushed all the way in. I had to remove the plastic access panel in the toilet room wall, reach thru the wall, lift the spring clip, and push the TV out an inch or so. Then go around front and slide the TV out of the cabinet.

I had a 2005 2980RL ... there are two long screws in the lip right under the TV ... those have to be removed as well as one simply screwed into the RH side. I think that screw was covered by a plastic screw cover. It it's the original TV get two people because that tube TV is HEAVY!

They run screws right through the plastic case of the TV from the bottom

dieselguy is right! We had a 2004 2980RL and when I removed the TV it had 2 screws coming up from the bottom and one on the right side. All of them are just screwed into the plastic cabinet of the TV body. The one on the right does have a small cover over the screw head.

Be sure to get some help when pulling it out as it is Very Heavy and Awkward to hold. We replaced ours with a flat panel TV.

Need more info on the screws. Can't find the bottom ones in the DVD compartment beloetheTV nor any evidence of one on the right in the stairwell into the bedroom. Was just trying to remove the wall behind the toilet to see if BB_TX was correct about his "sled".

dieselguy and PackerFan are correct on where the screws are to remove that hunkin' tube TV. The screws in the bottom of ours were going up in the front trim of the cabinet and the one on the right side was there just as they said with a screw cover over the head of the screw. I replaced the TV in our 2980 about a year before we traded it in. Replace both of the teli's with flat screens and never regretted it one bit! That livingroom TV is one heavy sucker and I took it out by myself BUT had moved the dining table over to set it on as soon as I removed it from the cabinet. Took the fold out desk out too and put shelving in there. Anybody need a fold out desk? I still have it and you can have it if you pick it up at the Central Plains Regional Rally in June or July! Sneaky way to throw a plug in for the CPRR!

Glad you were able to figure it out. I have only heard of two having the sled type mount, mine and a friend with a 2008 3295RK.

I replaced my TV with a 32" HD Samsung. Much better on my old eyes that the original. Larger than the opening, but managed to mount it outside the cabinet with little problem.

My variation of TV replacement. Like BB_TX I added a wood mantel below and also added a thin wood cover on the side to hide seeing behind the TV. I also did some wood work and moved the DV player above the TV as well as replaced the speakers with some I liked better at the time.
