Mattress

Well,

I knew (as Richfaa noted with his) the first time I tried the mattress that it was junk. Keystone is replacing it under warranty next week. If enough owners of new units gripe and have them replaced maybe (1) get a better mattress (not likely) or (2) get an allowance towards buying what you really like (better)
No two people are going to like the same mattress, not even when they sleep next to you, so I'd rather put that money towards a Bear or Sleep Number, or whatever you like.

Sold mine for $100 and replaced it with a 14 inch Sealy Cushion Firm.

I never understood the complaints about the mattress. I sleep great on ours. Of course this is coming from a guy who used to sleep sitting on a 4 legged stool in the middle of a metal stamping plant during break time, or who is normally asleep before his plane can take off.

Guess we lucked out with our mattress...or at least I am happy with it (the wife is ok with it). We have put a memory foam pad on it, though...maybe that's why I am happy with it!

Repaced our mattress as soon as we arrived home when new after looking at it and laying on it ( still in plastic). They are the lowest quality on the market ( likely terndered out), probably in the $150 to $200 range. It is a shame that RV manufactures do this and do not allow the consumer options.

We had just bought a great mattress for our CC two months before trading it in for the Monty. TOld dealer - keep your mattress. We will provide own. Mattress in rig was a King. Ours a Queen. We cut down 4.5 inches off each side of platform. What a difference that makes for more room around the bed.

Here we go again! It all boils down to what ever you are comfortable with. The wife and I love ours that came with the 3400RL, King size. This is all the reason that there are so many different manufactors of mattress out there. Can you just imagine where we would be if there were just one, and all they sold was an extra firm....Joe
