Verizon buys Alltel

Have no clue if this is good or bad. Probably both. There goes more employees on the job market/unemployment lines. Also, it may mean better coverage for our FL winter location, which, in a word, is LOUSY currently. Alltel coverage in MI is excellent with total EVDO high speed coverage - even in all rural areas. Hope Verizon doesn't mess that up...

Verizon has broadband coverage in many areas and is rapidly expanding. Looks like they just did a big expansion all at once. I'd bet on it just continuing to spread.

HOORAY for Verizon. As I said before IMHO Verizon is the best and the acquisition of Alltel can only make it better.

Dave, Speaking of losing jobs, One "actor" that may lose his job is Brad. The character in the Alltel commercials. Looks like the Verizon geek won out on that one and didn't need the Wizard to do it, Just needed money.

We can usually always get a Verizon SIGNAL..that is not the issue..speed is..Here at home we now get 500/600kbps on the Verizon aircard.In our Florida C.G we were lucky to get 125kbps. In other parts of the country we may get a acceptable signal but low download speeds. We are going to upgrade to a faster card but Verizon also needs to ungrade there towers.
