Running AC on batteries

2019 3130re, 20th Anniversary Edition with solar prep package and 2000w inverter (according to Montana brochure).
I would like to be able to turn on one AC unit while towing, say 30 to 60 minutes before stopping for the night, to help start cooling off the RV? What would it take (solar panels or batteries or both) to do this?

You will need a bigger inverter 3000+ watts and 800-1000 AH battery bank. Solar panels are to recharge your battery bank vice directly powering the ac.

You would be better off putting a second shore cable socket near the front of your rig, and along with a generator in the bed of the truck and a short cable, you could run the A/C while towing.

While I am pro solar 100%, the generator route would be cheaper. In addition if your batteries are PbSO4 the heavy load drops the voltage so quickly you won’t get much of a run time at all. On the other hand if boondocking is something you do lithium, batteries and solar are a real winner. Nothing like running your AC in the middle of BLM dispersed camping areas without a generator to spoil the peacefulness.

Oh well. So much for that idea. Not a fan of running a gen while driving.

On our old rig we had 7 pannels and six golf cart batteries and a 4500 watt inverter and still could only run one AC for a short time.
