UPDATE A/C Noise
We have been out camping for 4 days now with the a/c running all day each day, just a few moments ago there was as tapping sound like a woodpecker on the roof just behind the rear ac unit, the noise would come and go, I did check on the roof and no bird, shutting the unit down did stop the noise but fired up again, a come and go noise, wondering if someone else has had this issue, the sound was a consistent rhythm also, call me crazy but this one has got me stumped...
Removed cover off of a/c unit, checked everything out and all looks fine, will be going out again soon with the 5ver and I guess we will see what happens, thanks again for your replys...

I would pull the cover and check the fan, first step.

I'd check the fan first, but be careful. There could be a mud dauber nest on or near the fan.

The unit is still cooling well, when we arrive home tomorrow, I planned to pull the cover and look around, after the original post, the noise seemed to quit, we have owned about 6 trailers and I have never had this problem before, with the quiet cool system, all I can do is look from the top end, thanks for the replys...

I would be guessing some type of wasps nest or something hitting the fan. It not that possibly some ice had started to form since you were running it constantly but the fan was causing the ice to fall off before the unit completely froze over.

Well I may be completely wrong but I have heard that in your particular part of Oregon and Washington it may have been that darn Black Velvet bug...
Happy trails my friend.

Ed, you may be right, I will have to check that out, since it is 103 degrees out, and even hotter in the storage building where the Monty is, I think I will wait to tear into the a/c till it cools a little, Thanks again for your replys, you to ED...
