Maintenance Frustration on the Montana

You know it is hard enough to keep the Montana running right when you do all the required maintenance. I believe in good preventative, no problem at all. Specifically the 6 point level-up system, in 2015 I was told by Lippert when in a non sea salt area, wipe the hydraulic levelers with silicone once a week. Now Lippert tells the members at some of the rally's to wipe the legs with hydraulic fluid. I called Lippert a few minutes ago to clarify what to do. They confirmed a hydraulic fluid wipe every two weeks now. Is this what they stated at the rally? Then the Lippert tech stated that the BEST thing to do was to retract the level-up totally every few weeks, uh?? Does anybody really do this once you get the trailer all setup?

Any comments or information to clarify this would be appreciated.

I never raise or lower the legs unless moving the Rig. When not in use, only the front legs are down. We spend 5.5 months in Florida each winter, our 2015 leveling system has been trouble free, except for touchpad issues. If I remember to do it, once every week or two, I wipe down with silicon spray. Most folks in our park in Florida do nothing and seem to be happy with their LCI system.

We do the same, except now I wipe the legs with ATF.

They are down for 6 months in florida and at least 80 percent of the rest of the time. We wipe them down with ATF because we have a lot of of it around

I spray mine with silicone at the beginning of the season. Mine are down all summer long, since I am at a seasonal site. They go up the few times I do move the rig.
Mine always look like they are moist, if they ever look dry, ill spray them.

I spray legs initially when I put the legs down for the winter when we are in the south. So I guess I do it about once or twice a year.

Never had any problems and my rig is a 2013.

Not sure if this is the reason for the change or not, but when I was a Working Stiff the company I was working for (Government Contractor) was advised that Silicone and some types Rubber didn't play well together.
Don't know or remember any further details.

Silicone wont stick to the roofing material. I scraped off all the silicone the factory applied along the roof (before it blew off) and applied a white EDPM sealer.
