Surge Protectors - what to buy

I checked out the surge protectors at CW and saw 3:
- one approx. $80.00
- one approx $237.00
- one approx. $325.00

I asked the CW sales guy if the $80.00 unit will protect my electronics as well as the more expensive units. His reply was that the $80 unit will not protect all the electronics such as the AC. It appeared he wanted to sell the most expensive unit. Was he correct in statintg the $80.00 unit will not protect all the monty electronics? Since I'm not sure what to buy I appreciate your recommendations.

Thank you

The $80 dollar one will probably just protect you from a surge, better ones will protect you from surge, high and low voltage, reverse polarity, and more. Many on the MOC use units from Progressive Industries such as this http://www.progressiveindustries.net/ems_pt50c.htm
They also offer a hard wired unit with a remote display

I agree with Charlie. Bite the bullet now and get a good system. A surge isn't the only disaster that can occur with 50 amp connections. We have a Progressive Industries on route here from Tweetys.com.

Get the good one, I got mine here (over $100 cheaper than CW's on sale): https://www.rvpartsoutlet.com/newstore/nojava/index.cfm
