Heat Pump

How do you know if one of the AC units is also a heat pump?
We were told our 2018 3731 FL was equipped with a a heat pump.

If you have a heat pump for 1 of your units, you should have a heat pump setting for 1 of your units on your thermostat.

Nothing but furnace and cool on both so apparently salesman didn’t know what he was talking about.
Thanks for your help.

2018 units are supposed to have a heat pump. On ours (3810MS), it is the rear AC unit and when you scroll through the heat/cooling/fan settings, the last two are furnace and heat pump. In yours since it is a FL, I would suspect that it would be in the front one. Our front one does not have this feature.

Neither rear or front thermostats have anything on them that says heat pump.

Your heat pump is located in the MAIN a/c unit, whether it is the front or rear unit depends on model of your specific unit. Both thermostats will have it listed, but only 1 will operate the heat pump, and that will be the main a/c unit thermostat.

To visually tell the difference, you can look from outside onto roof, and the TALLER/BIGGER a/c unit will be the one with the heat pump in it. At least thats how it is on our coach.

Greetings, my heat pump is on kit/dining t-stat in our 2018 3560RL. I just want to use furnace only to take off the chill (setting on t-stat is furnace) but heat pump comes on too? Why? Thanks.

Im not 100% certain, but Im thinking I've read somewhere on here about the fan setting. If its on "auto" your heat pump runs with furnace, if its on "high" the heat pump wont run with furnace...or something like that scenario.

Again not 100% certain how it was worded.

You may have read that but it's not true about mine. The HP only runs when thermostat is on the HP mode and furnace only runs when on furnace mode. The "LOW", "HIGH", and "AUTO" only applies to fan speed on mine. I never take mine off AUTO and everything works fine.

Our 2017 has heat pump feature on the rear unit so I would think yours should be the same.

Our 1 heat pump is on the rear unit. It shows up on the thermostat after furnace.
One member yesterday said his High Country has 2 heat pumps. Ours is also wired for a 3rd AC but has no thermostat for it.

Our High Country 381TH came with heat pump feature on BOTH A/C units. Not sure if that was a special order or not. That's a great thing for us as I don't like to run the gas furnace and we don't camp in the extreme cold anyway. Besides the wife cuddles tighter when it is a bit cold in the bedroom........

On our 3791RD I've noticed that both thermostats have a heat pump setting. Where we are currently and in our driveway at home, the outside temps are too cold and the humidity is too high to get much from a heat pump. For the best from a heat pump, the air should be dry and not colder than ~45F.

Not sure if the RV heat pump is different than a home version, but I have one at my house in North Idaho and it works great at temperatures above 32 degrees.

Our high efficiency home unit works well even down into the high 20’s and high humidity. I suppose the small RV units don’t work as well.
