The full body paint jobs are beautiful. But I don't think I want one in Texas where temps well over 100 are common. That dark paint surely must make keeping it cool much harder.

Quality of the paint is questionable in terms of chipping. I would NOT order full body paint if I had it to do over. There is 2012 Mobile Suites one street down from us and his front overhang is chipped same as ours. He also has chips down the side that we so far do not have except for a couple of exceptions. Same with a Carriage here. It is going to cost us a bunch to put some protection on the front overhang. They are pretty no doubt but after coming up on two years and maybe 10K road miles I give it a thumbs down.

I think I will put 3M protection on my next fiver if it has full paint. I used it on my boats with great results. At least on the front cap and under the front behind the truck! Motorhomes have had great success. I had rhino coating on matching color spoiled to my Travel Trailer. That was impervious to anything!

Rich is correct in saying the paint chips easily. But once I started using the Rock Tamers mud flaps, I have had almost no chipping (one small chip down low - easily touched up). I have almost 9,000 miles towing since the re-paint and installation of the mud flaps.

There is no noticeable heat difference between my painted Montana and any of the other Montanas we camp with. The painted RV does show dirt more than the white/oyster ones. But a simple dusting usually is all that is needed to return the shine.

I definitely would buy another painted RV (try to find a plain gelcoated MH). The jury is still out on the "new" decals. It will take a few more years before I will believe they are improved.

We also have the rock tamer system and it did reduce the chipping somewhat. However on our 1200 miles trip to our Florida residence in October we had some nasty chipping.

Rich,
Just leave the front overhang dirty and it won't show to much.
The front overhang chipping is the least of my concerns.
