Ordered our 2013 3582RL today

Well... after nearly two years and untold of help from all the VERY kind people here we laid the money on the counter today for a new 2013 3582RL Big Sky. We are scheduled to pick it up the first week of July. Most notable options were dual pane glass, stack washer/dryer, central vac and 2nd air. Turns out the 2nd air is NOT low profile "as standard". We are "discussing" this after he gets the height info on the 2nd air Monday. Might have to look to 3rd party for low profile. We shall see.

Mixed emotions leaving Alaska after 30 years this summer. DW was born here. 4 months out of the year its the most beautiful place anywhere, the other 8 are getting toughter to endure. Love her, hate her or don't know about her; Sara Palin changed Alaska forever. 6 Alaska reality shows currently running on TV. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. So it's off to Florida to spoil the grandkids and fish in shirtsleeves and shorts!!

THANK YOU to everyone who took a few minutes from their busy lives to help us in our decision making process. We truly appreciate the kindness and generosity of everyone on the MOC forum. What a wonderful resource!

Today closes one chapter of our new Montana experience and opens another. I'm sure as a couple of rookies we are going to be faced with MANY questions and concerns this summer once we hit the road. We signed up for Escapees BootCamp in mid September, so that should help some.

Cheers!
Robert & Kerri

And I thought the winters in Pennsylvania were getting tougher!! Nothing compared to 8 months of Alaska winters. My hat goes off to the both of you for 30 years of that. Quite a switch from Alaska to Florida. As Manny Gorden used to say here in PA, " ENJOY ENJOY"!!

Good luck on that new Montana.

What a wonderful new adventure for you two! Best of luck and enjoy that new Montana. Just curious, but when did they say the 2013's would start production?

Congrats to you Robert and Kerri on your new upcoming unit! That's the unit I'd like to get eventually but time will tell! On your way to Florida, stop in here in Nebraska and say "Hi!" Always a pleasure to meet fellow MOC members. If you can make it here by July 18th-23rd, come and join us for the MOC Central Plains Regional Rally and meet some of the your fellow MOC brothers and sisters and enjoy some good Nebraska hospitality too! You are leaving some beautiful country at least for the four months,as you stated, but still beautiful. Enjoy the new unit and hope to meet you down the road somewhere if you can't make the CPRR or can't make it through our wonderful State! on your way to FL.

Congratulations on the Big Sky!
Now for the wait, sort of like a kid waiting on Christmas isn’t it?

Good for you both! I know you've been working toward this and I think you've made a great choice. Please keep all of us informed as your rig progresses to your PDI and final acceptance.

We put the identical AC on the front to match the one that came with our unit, and have had no problems with height because of it. Congrats on the new unit.

Dealer mentioned they made the switch over the past few weeks. Given the 3582RL was formerly the 3580RL, the upgrade being made Dec 2011 there are little to no changes between the 2012 and the 2013, especially in the Big Sky. Keystone shuts down the plant "usually" the last week of June to the first week of July for 2 weeks. The dealer wanted the unit on the lot before that happened. Besides the pricing and reputation, the dealer we chose was the most flexible with regard to our pickup date. We have to pack up a house of decades, sell it, ferry two rigs to Washington, pull the wifes car to the dealer with our "stuff", unload into the Montana, put her car on a carrier to Florida, and hit the road as our house "stuff" goes into storage and then transit to Florida.

Thanks UpinAK. So I guess that's one positive when I re-order I will be getting a year newer model... Wow, that is a big move. I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.
