Brad, I made some other measurments. From the front of the kingpin on the hitch to the inside of my tailgate is 40 inches. The tailgate inside is even with the end of my bed. It is 43 inches to the outside of my tailgate and 48 1/2 inches to the outer most point on my bumper. With the tailgate down it is 62 inches. Now we know why some people have this issue and others don't.

I think you're right Dennis.

I was going to measure, but I left the hitch in the Maneuver position and it's frozen in place! Tooooo cold. I'll have to check it later.

Brad, if you have any of that slide lube, spray the heck out of the slide rails, inside the slide, everywhere you can. Spray the heck out of it. Then you should be able to kick the slide and it should no longer freeze up on you. That worked for me, anyhow.

I posted this very topic back in August when I got my 2007 3475RL. I went round and round with the dealer and Keystone. I was told that I could have ordered the unit with an extended pinbox as an option before it was built at an extra cost. I could drive the unit to Indiana and they would have to change the pinbox mounting to accomodate the longer box. Again my cost. If I put an extended pinbox on, if I could find one, it would void the warranty. My 2004 Monty pinbox had 9 bolts and my new one only has 6 bolts. Lippert didn't make an extended one to fit the new units. It is very tight between the tailgate (down) and the front generator compartment door. If I am not straight when hooked up, the basement door hits the tailgate or the tailgate hits the door. I just can't gain any more weight if I want to squeeze by. I have learned to adjust and live with it. We just returned from Arizona (7800 miles roundtrip) and no problems.

Our 07 344RET Mountaineer came with the extended pinbox, which works great for us on clearance. I don't know why Keystone wouldn't have the option for the extended pinbox, I think the frames are made the same. Just my opinion, someone might come along and tell me different.

When we were still in the looking phase of our purchase late last spring, I called Keystone and asked about factory pin boxes. He said no options no choices, they are all the same.
