whistler tpms

Has anyone used the whistler tire pressure monitoring system? They have replacable batteries. My TST systems batteries have gone dead.

Any chance of replacing the TST systems sensors with TST sensors that have replaceable batteries? I'd talk to TST and see if a deal can be worked out.

They told me of two options, buy new sensors with nonreplacable batteries that are compatible with old monitor or a complete new system with replaceable batteries with a new monitor. The two systems are not interchangeable.

Color me confused, I thought on the non user-replaceable TST systems, that all that was required was to send them the sensors and they replaced the batteries? Thought the life was about five years and then you send them back for replacement of the batteries. Has something changed??

Battery replacement and shipping is not free ... at least it didn't used to be.

No it's not free and, as I remember it from my old Pressure Pro system, not cheap either. Too bad they're not compatible.

$19.95 a sensor I think. Heck of a lot cheaper than a complete new system?? I do believe they will deal on upgrading to user replaceable battery. At least that is what has been reported in the past.

I think it was 35 or 50 dollars per sensor. That's why I am thinking of an alternative.

Their website says $19.95 which inlcudes new gaskets, new outer shell along with the battery replacement? It is under the FAQ section. I would insist on them honoring that price. Just my opinion, obviously, the choice is yours.

UPDATE
I talked to Dan at TST today.
option #1 For 19.95 each they will rebuild the original sensors to like new condition.
option #2 For about 240 I could buy the new 507 system with replaceable batteries.
The original system monitor is not compatible with the new system.

I had been given wrong info or at least heard it wrong before.

this is the compsny who sent me a new monitor free of charge after I lost the first one, or it was stolen. I have only good to say about TST.
