Black Water Drain Stops!!!!
So, out I go to drain the black water and after about thirty seconds the flow slows to a trickle and stops. Figuring a blockage, I fire off the flusher, which after about a minute, produces an overflow at the commode and onto the floor as well as a screaming DW. Neither force cup nor snake nor any other device could open the flow so it was a P/C to a plumber with a RV background. He shows up and says. "I hate Keystones". He runs a hose down the commode and up from the sewer outlet. Nothing. Then he drops the belly pan to access the black water valve and drill a 1/8" hole somewhere in the valve body and inserts a coat hanger wire. After a while he yells, "I hit something and it's hard" He bangs on it for a while and suddenly it lets go and whooosh, out goes the black water. Next day he comes back and removes the black pipe but can't grab the object inside the tank. I loan him a spring loaded graber tool and two pair of vice grips and he finally grabs the object but can't pull it through the hole. Hr cuts on it with a sawzall blade until he can bend it in half and finally pulls out...............drum roll please!! The 3" plastic slug the worker bee's drilled in top of the black water tank when they installed the inlet. They let it drop into the tank. It still had the pilot drill hole in the center. Who knows how long it rolled around in the black water tank until it lodged at the outlet valve. Just an FYI if you have an unexplained stoppage............and I'll be contacting Keystone for reimbursement.

Oh yeah, that would make me happy - NOT!!! Is that the reason the plumber said he hated Keystones, or was there other reasons we should know about?

He never really said why, Tom. I gathered it was due to the lack of a blueprint or a printed diagram of where everything is/goes. Repairs are pretty much trial and error unless it's in the forum.............

Just recently while patching a grey tank, I noticed the sticker on the black tank, had no inventory information on the sticker.
The grey tank also had a patch on it where I needed to patch. My patch is holding so far, but wonder how a brand new trailer had a patched tank....yep, Keystone hides mistakes under the belly.
Good luck with Keystone, I'll stay tuned for the results.

Interesting. I too had a 3 inch or so plug that I found while cleaning the blackwater tank. Your explanation makes some sense as I wondered where from and why it appeared.

My SIL's Cherokee had the same problem. My dear daughter came over after dark and had this daddy-do-project for me. After locating the disk I reinstalled the 3" drain hose, took a coat hanger and made a "fish hook" on the end. Then I poked a small hole in the stinky slinky and was able to insert he hanger hook into the tank and grab the culprit and with a minimum of poo the problem was solved. It isn't just Keystones that are man made.
