Retired in Bellingham

We live either on our boat or in our Montana 5th wheel. Our home base would be Bellingham Wa. We plan to head to warmer dryer climate the first of January. Not sure yet where to go yet. I like fishing and I paint in oils as a hobby. Colleen likes to read. I was in construction and my wife was a music teacher.

You've chosen to live a lifestyle that most can only dream about. Welcome to the group from sunny Florida. Warmer and dryer in January is what we have to offer down here. So, come on down, everybody else does.

We agree with this we are from Northern Ohio and the winters can be brutal. We winter in central Florida near Disney world and the weather is just perfect.

First of all, Welcome to the Forum! Great place to learn all about your Monte and if you have questions-- You'll get answers from the experts-- actual Montana owners that know the answer and how to take care of it. We head for the warmer climate also come winter. Since we live in Nebraska we never know what we will get. If you don't like the weather one day just wait it will change and you may have even worse weather. We head for Arizona because of the warmer weather but last year it was warmer up here than it was down there for a few day! One can not depend on what Mother Nature is going to throw at you! Anyway, welcome aboard and enjoy that retirement where ever it may take place.

We spend our winters where we spend our summers, Houston. We try to do our traveling during the spring and fall. Went to Quartzsite Az. last January for a few days and really enjoyed it. Many rv'ers winter in South Texas from Corpus Christi to Brownsville. There is a lot of good fishing along the coast. Good luck in your travels no matter where you go. Welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy it as much as i do.

Welcome to the forum. Retirement is great, allows you to travel where it is warm in the winter.

Welcome to the forum. We too are from Nebraska. We winter in Rockport, Tx. Fishing is big there and plenty of birds and scenery to paint. Lot of shallow water fishing in kayaks or flat bottom boats. Water temp can sometimes be too cold or too much fresh water in Jan to catch fish. But Feb & Mar it gets into high gear.

The Rockport area thrives on and needs the Winter Texans who come from as-far-away as Canada. So they are glad to see us.

Wherever you decide to go, it helps find a facebook group or a news channel to follow from that area. It can tip you off in advance to any environmental problems that may affect your stay. Like an oil spill, a fresh water problem like an inoperable water plant or something causing a water boil or insufficient water supply. Or a change in the local eonomy that may affectg the availability of RV sites.

Some of the RV Parks have their own Facebook Group. Once you get established with the park and make friends, you'll have additional sources to follow.

Enjoy wherever you go.

We left WA 8 years ago. You need to get some help from the Forum about State Residency , There are states that are Full Timers Friendly. SD, MT, TX, FL.They all have their advatages. We save lots of $$$ when we stopped having WA as our home. Once you used a new residency Zip Code everything get cheaper.
