planning a trip from Colorado to Mississippi

we have pulled our campers over the years on long trips but nothing like this 1400 mile trip we are trying to plan.

any suggestions, ideas, what to watch for, what to do to prepare for such a long trip etc..........

vehicle prep for sure. oil change, tire pressure for the camper and truck and put the TST monitor stuff on the vehicles. planning on gps Rand or Garmin. still kicking that one around.

thanks in advance.

Went to the northeast fom Colorado a few years ago, and learned to take it easy. 3:00, 4:00 in the afternoon is a good time to stop, and you can be set up and watch the push-it-to-the-limit folks lining up to check in.

Don't forget to factor in the loss of hours going East. But it's great gaining hours going west. Scattershot has the right idea to stop earlier than if you were doing this by vehicle. Driving with a load is way more taxing than with no load. Besides the speed being slower under load, it does tire one out more than without a load. It's amazing the difference even at my young age of 60.
