Tahnks for any help you can give.

We were just through there (not with the Montana) about a month ago. It would be very tight even driving through the campground. There were only a couple of sites that you could fit in. The sites are first come, first served so you can't reserve a specific site. The park ranger told us that it's really not a big rig friendly park. Even if you don't stay there it's definately worth several hours seeing everything. There are several reviews at RV Park Reviews - http://www.campgroundreviews.com/regions....html#CGID8687 . There were a couple of campgrounds between Arco and Craters of the Moon but none of them looked like we would want to stay there for a long time. There was a nice campground about an hour north of Craters of the Moon at the Mackay Reservoir on US 93. We drove through that campground and decided that when we retire we wanted to go there for a week or so. The weather looks to be in the high 80s and low 90s. While you are in the area be sure to go to the Experimental Breeder Reactor 1 (EBR1) just east of Arco on Hwy. 20/26 ~ 20 miles - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Experim...eder_Reactor_I . We took the tour and it was very interesting. It was the first electricity generating nuclear reactor. Good luck and have fun on your trip!

No electric at this NP CG. Even if you have generators, there will be limited, specific times when you can run them. At the last NP we visited, Coral Reef, the times were 8-10 am and 6-8 pm only.

We did get water and dump our tanks, though and used a spot for the day as a parking place for our Monty. The camping fee was not that much so we just paid it for the convenience of not having to find another place to park.

I don't mine the lack of electricity. But do like the convenince of location. But it sounds like it might be a little tight.
Thanks for the web site, nice to get the reviews.

We stayed at the first park coming into Arco from the park. I believe it was called Mountain View. Nice family run park with a FREE breakfast. Visit EBR 1 for sure and be sure to see Number Hill.

We stayed in the Craters Of The Moon National Park a few years ago with the 2955RL. As mentioned above most of the sites are very tight for a Monty. We were lucky and got a good open site. It would be worth checking out the park for a site.
Be careful pulling around the roads in the park. There are places with the volcanic rock close to the side of the road.
Nice little place to see.

Well we stayed at Carter of the moon. Roads were a little tight but not bad, sites were good size and there had to be at least 10 big rigs camping there. Stayed there 2 days and it was worth it.
