Blank tank burb

Oh, the strange things that excite me. Today I got my first burb. It actually "scared" me a bit.. What the!! I normally just dump the black tank every week and know by the flow that it's pretty full.

Because the light indicators are not to be trusted on how full the poop tank actually is, I always wait for the burp in the toilet to tell me that the tank is full.
Actually the tank is not totally full but high enough to reach the bottom of the vent tube. That's why the toilet burps.
To me it's the best indicator of the tank level & I just go out & dump the tank.
No harm is done by this procedure that I know of.

We think the burp Is gross . We are on full hookups so we dump every three days. Takes maybe 15 mins no big deal.

I'm with you Rich! I was just excited to actually see one finally after 12 odd years of RVing. I was actually using the facility one last time before I walked out to dump. Just so happened I got the burp. Perfect timing. I figure my average schedule is dead on, just before the burp.

Maybe it's because we use lesser cost chemicals, foul odors occur long before our black tank fills. We dump once a week as a regular routine and do not have any issues with odors, burping or the like.

We are full-timers now. I'll explain.

I don't like burping, or backing up, so now I dump every two days for both gray tanks, then every 6 days it's the black tank followed by both greys. Any longer is too risky. This means in drought stricken California we use about 300 gallons of water in 6 days for showers, dishes, drinking and toilet, plus several gallons during the black flush process.

So other than 50 gallons a day for the two us in the rig this doesn't count the water we use at a car wash, CG or public restroom. But I still think we do better than most.

I think the dump schedule I use helps keep things cleaner than letting things go longer, then uaing that much more water for cleanup.

My Monty is only a year old and the indicators are showing full all the time. So i dump the black every two weeks and the grey tanks i close and fill once a month add a little bleach and let them sit then dump them to clean out any junk that might be in there.

Had our first burp yesterday, but there is no way the tank was full. Only been four days with two of us, and very little was present in black tank.
Thinking possibly vent issues......

So I decide its a good idea to pull the belly paneling, entire belly is installed with nails???? in the frame. Trip to Lowes to get SS self tappers, and while there get SS fasteners for the furnace cover and tail lights as they are starting to rust.

So all seems to be fine down below, valve is operating correctly full open and close, routing looks ok with some pitch to the plumbing. But the mess of wiring and hydraulic plumbing the fell out with pan removal...... Spent plenty of time using zip ties organizing the wiring and hoses.

I live in Kalifornia. We do not have a water shortage. We have too many people. If we allow the water to stabilize many people will have to leave the state. GOOD the traffic is terrible and we need fewer people.

Sure I am for hire, I fix stuff for a living when home.....lol

I guess how everyone manages their waste is up to that individual. If this is how you are managing yours you are not allowing the system to work very efficient. Referring to your earlier post no wonder your state is running out of water!
