I normally don't buy extended warranties. But I did on my 2004 Ford 6.0L truck and when it melted two pistons at 25K miles they replaced it with a 2008 6.4L. I didn't buy an extended warranty on my 2005 Montana and had few problems. But when I bought my 2012 Montana, the horror stories scared me and I bought one. Color me happy I did. Here are just a few samples of repairs covered by the warranty (cost $1,800):
- Front Jack Failed - $1,200
- Nylon Glide under Kitchen/Entertainment Slide Failed - $2,400
- Black and Grey Valves Replacement - $300
- Refrigerator Replacement - $5,100
There were a couple of other items but these are the highlights. I have three years remaining and I expect I will be using the warranty again before then.
