Roof Maintenance Question

Every year we check the roofing caulk as part of the spring maintenance. It really looks no different than when it was new, except for road dirt. Do you remove the old caulk/lap sealant or do add to it by overlaying the old with the new?

Thanks, and Happy Camping!

If the caulking is cracking you should remove all of the old caulking and replace with new. As long as the cauling looks OK just dirty I would do nothing.
As your roof carries a 10 year warranty I would strongly suggest contacting the manufacturer of the roof, Dicor Corp, directly for their suggestion as to the proper caulk that should be used.

Has anyone here used EternaBond sealing tape over the calking? I am thinking about using it over all the seams around the vents and at the front and rear cap.

Eternabond works well over the Dicor lap sealant, the only thing it won't stick to is silicone. If the Eternabond is properly applied you should never have to worry about leaks there again
