Don't recommend Lake Stephens Park in WV

We've just completed our first real trip in our Big Sky. For the most part we had a great time. Just for the record, however, we do not recommend the campground at Lake Stephens in Beckley, WV. Very difficult to get to and although they claim they love Big Rigs, the sites are not big enough for both truck and RV and getting into and out of the sites (let alone the park with all the trucks parked along side the roads) was a nightmare. We also had some "part-time" neighbors (they seemed to only show up around 10 pm and played hard noise (I mean rock) of some kind REALLY, REALLY loudly (so loudly that even with our bedroom airconditioner blasting we couldn't drown it out)from about 10 pm until 2-3 am and were the type of people we didn't feel comfortable confronting (rural campground didn't have anybody to complain to either). We had planned to stay there several nights and left after the second and ended up at a KOA just West of Dayton, Ohio which was fantastic. Verle and Sue C

After the previous post, I am sorry you had to witness the Wild part of West Virginia and miss some of the Wonderful. Lake Stephens must be a "party" spot for the locals of Beckley from what you describe. I have never been there and after your experience will cross it off of our list for future visits. There are several nice CG's in WV, so please don't judge all by one bad experience. I am sorry you had to endure such an overnight visit.
