Steve, in the LT275/70R18E only Continental and Goodyear are available. In the LT275/65R18E, ther are several companies to choose from, including BFG. TOYO has started production of this size, ( not available as of yet ) and a couple of the others are in planning stages.
Ahhh, yes, I forgot about them being 18 inchers. Thanks.

Where does one find that chart that shows the impact of different tire sizes (the 70 vs 65 mentioned) on overall ratio? That would be nice to have.

Not in 275/70/18 they are not yet, I tired them as well few weeks ago before I ended back with the Contitracs from Continental.

Steve R. I would have loved to gotten that kind of mileage, I only got 36K out of the OEM tires, hoping by this time next year when I am more than likely due again Michelin has them out.

Well Broome, I guess I had better take them off my truck if they don't exist yet.

Sweetfire is CORRECT. The TOYO Open Country A/T IS now available in the LT275/70R18 Load Range E. I just ordered 4 from my TOYO distributor.

Dennis, thanks. Mine are 17 inch.

Don, thanks for the calculator. I got my tire specs from that. I wish it would let me enter the 3.73 axle ratio, though. It's not one of the choices.

I'm also curious about impact on mpg of a brand new tire vs a near baldy of the same size and brand/model. I can probably rough this out by backwards determing diameter of the new tire based on the circumference given at that site and deducting twice the amount of tread worn off the worn tire, then taking a ratio of old and new. I'm disregarding weight differences between new and old tires but this should give me a rough idea.

The tires new have 15/32 inch tread, or 30/32 for both sides. If the worn tires had 4/32 left, that's 8/32 combined. The new tire diameter is 31.60". So the worn tire would be 30.91" diameter. The new tire diameter is 1.0223 the worn tire's diameter, or 2.23% larger, meaning I travel 2.23% farther per revolution with the new tire, right? So I'd expect mpg to increase by 2.23%?? Did I do that right? Unfortunately, I replaced the tires about the same time we went to ULSD and to winterized diesel so I have no way to see if the mpg numbers check out. Sorry, just got this question in my mind and had to try to think it out. Someone correct me if my calculations are faulty.

Don, the 4 I ordered yesterday will go for $225.00 each, mounted and balanced. As the availability increases though, the price should go down some. In the Northwest, the price may already be at a more tolerable level.

Lonnie, thankyou very much for the info. I should get another year out of the Continentals. They are fine but I want a better snow tire so I will give the Toyos a good look over. Merry Christmas to you .
