Inexpensive Walmart LED light strip

I posted a thread on this about a month ago and finally bought some of the LED lights at Walmart.

They are only $21.00 for 16' and at the store I found them at they were stocked in the RV section located in Auto parts.

The lights are quite a bit brighter than our old rope lights. They have multiple colors, 110 volt and a remote control. The strand is flat, about 1" wide and 1/4" thick. There is NO self sticking tape on this set of lights. The box says the lights are indoor/outdoor and the connections are waterproof but I would not trust the control box outside (I tucked ours inside the belly).

I did not use the mounting clips. Instead I bought some 1"x1" plastic squares that have sticky tape on one side and holes for zip ties on the other (they are intended to use to keep wires bundled together). This will allow me to remove the lights easily if I decide I don't like them.

I ran a small extension cord from a 110 volt outlet on the wall of the front pass thru storage down to the control box. The lights look fairly bright to me and you can add a second strand directly to the first if you wanted too (the far end of the stand has a waterproof plug just for that purpose) you will only need the one controller for two strands.

This is just an inexpensive way to have belly lights if you want them. They probably won't look as good as boogey lights but then they don't cost a couple $100 either.....

I'll let y'all know how they hold up.

Okay as they say on the ford forums, you did not do it if there are not any pictures.

Can you please share some pictures of the mod?

Update to belly light thread

Latest update on this project. I took some pictures to help in case someone was interested in these for their unit. Pictures are of the box lights come in, remote for same and two pictures of the little square mounts to use with zip ties. Even if you don't want to install belly lights those little squares are darn handy for mounting wiring and keeping it neat and tidy.

I’m looking at these to put under our 3931fb. https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Cha...jaz10cnVl&th=1

Does anyone have experience with mounting and wiring these type of lights? I was thinking of purchasing 2 sets and running a set down each side and feeding power thru the basement floor to the 120 in the basement bay. Would the phone app control both strips or would I need to purchase a controller?
