Replacing linoleum in TT

I want to tear up the linoleum in the kitchen and bath that has been cracked due to extremely cold weather. I may as well replace the carpet in the living area as well. (Leave the slide carpet as is). I would like to use Pergo type strips and glue them down.

Is this a good idea? Anybody done this?
I would appreciate your thoughts.

Lots of post on this. A lot of us replaced the carpet with laminate, real easy to do. I have done at least three and only took a day to do
