RV GPS

I saw a 7" HD Touchscreen by Magellan. It has a lot of RV features and also the Rand McNally offers one. I am looking to upgrade to a bigger screen. Any advice would be great.
Thanks,
Les

I've got the RM 7" RV model, 2012 edition and like it, but I sure am looking hard at the Garmin 2797LMT which is offered on Amazon for a good price. Doesn't have all the RV data, but I like the way a Garmin works. Will probably get it for the DW's Passat TDI since the built in annual GPS upgrade pack runs about $200.00 and the 2797 has voice command.

Many years ago, I had a Garmin that not only gave routing but also showed ALTITUDE. Do any of them do that anymore???

The RM lets you have an altitude display.

Our older Garmin used for truckers, will route you around AND alert you to the upcoming, possible issues. Found on Amazon much cheaper than in stores. (If you read the reviews on Amazon. They will give you users' thoughts).

Ours was cheaper because....it was "last years' model"!

Our "on-board" GPS in the dash will give elevations and misc. info of your current position. Have not been able to find any way on the in dash to find altitude. And no option to switch to trucker use like the portable Garmin.

We use both because in-dash cannot be programmed during driving. Safety first.
