Ft. Davis, TX

I was thru there last august and I don't remember the drive from Balmorhea to Ft. Davis being all that bad--I would say go for it---we stayed at a camp ground that was in the extreme south end of town going toward Marfa and at the time it had been repoed by the bank and they had lady running it-it was a fairly nice place and I would recommend that you look at it--if you don't find a good place to stay in Ft. Davis there is a nice rv park in Alpine just as you enter town from Ft. Davis--I don't remember the name but it had "Alaskan" in the name- be sure to plan a day at the McDonald Observatory as you will find it well worth the trip--we liked Balmorhea so well that we opted for a second night there--maybe the grandson and the big swimming pool had something to do with that decision--HAVE FUN !!
