Are you a showoff?
We have only had our monty about a month and we love it. We took it out camping about a week ago for the first time, had a great time. We were sitting outside enjoying the evening weather, talking to campers walking by when one lady walked by and said : all you montana owners want to do is show off: I was shocked!!! We bought ours for the floorplan and the quality not to show off. Oh well.. Happy camping to all Jack & Janet

Wagonmaster,
Congrats on the new Montana, and welcome to the forum.
Me thinks the lady was just good ole JEALOUS! Poor thing, she doesn't have one!

Sounds like a decided case of the old green eyed monster getting the better of her tact.
Glad your experience with the Montana has been positive so far! When it goes that well, there is no need to show off! Both your Monty and your pleasure in it speak well enough!

SHOW OFF??? show off what? What I do to not show off is after I set up I bought a HUGE moving blanket to cover the entire Montana.I hate being a show off and thats my solution.(laughing)I think I would have continued the conversation with that women and find out what her problem was.It takes all kinds I guess.

You have to admit it now. The Monty does turn heads when you drive in.

We've had a lot of fellow campers in awe of our Monty and have given a few guided tours. Recently one camp host could hardly concentrate on his duties he was so enamored of the fiver. We gave him a tour while he ooo'd and aaaaah'd. And he owned a big motor home. Maybe we've got something going here!

Welcome aboard Wagonmaster and congrats on the new Monty! Know you will just love your Monty as we do ours. Keep a rag handy to wipe off the gawkers drool! Enjoy and many happy trails to you ....

Was her complexion green??!! If people would do their homework, they would find out that Montana is the best bang for the buck and a good used unit can be found at a reasonable price, if a peson can't go the new route. I would much rather get something like a Montana and plan on having it a long time than a 5er that isn't constructed as well and have it deteriorate quick. Enjoy your Montana and the adventures ahead.

Wow !!
There are lots of great 5'rs out there. I have several Monty owner friends and I can't say any of them are show-offs. I think smart purchasers might be more applicable. Every make has good and bad things with each. It seems Montana has fewer than most.

It's hard to tell without being able to see the context but maybe it was meant as a backhanded compliment.

I only show 'off' when someone asks me too...but to be honest...I'm always wanting someone to ask me so I can 'show it off'...

I`ve only gotten good comments, usually everyone says nice rig. I`ve given a few tours and people think its awesome, and I usually say this is only a Mountaineer go look at a Monty or Big Sky and you`ll be really impressed!!

Mark & Donita, we had opportunity to look at some new Mountaineers recently and in the past few months. They are definitely impressive!

Welcome and congrats on the new Monty! Listen, I show off my TT and sometimes even the TV. With as much as my wife and I have spent on both we think we are entitled to do a little showing off. We cannot help it if not everyone has a Mountaineer or Montana.

I think that lady was suffering from Jealousy from a lack of a Montana.
We have had people make comments to us too that are questionable. One couple we know said we probably wouldn't go traveling with them and their 5th wheel. How ridiculous! The Montana didn't change us from who we were.

Wife and I like our Mountaineer 297rks with the L shaped kitchen area, and the round end sofa that butts up to it from the door opening. We give lots of tours when we are at our favorite rv parks, that means we cant leave it messy. I dont think any montana or mountaineer owners have their nose in the sky. I even have a 'FREE TOURS' sign hanging from our pin box.
