I'd think that the hole size would be standardized but I'm not a wheel and tire person. One of our experts should be by soon to lay down the info you asked about.

Sounds like the tire person simply did not know or was out of what you wanted. I don't think steel stems are all that rare.

You must be ready to get out of the white stuff. I hope the wx holds up for the Q gathering.
